Dr. Keri Hicks was raised in Trussville, Alabama, and graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1994. She then attended Mississippi State University and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation she went back to her hometown and practiced veterinary medicine until she opened VetCare of Calera in 2013. Dr. Hicks and her husband, Jon, live in Calera with their son Joseph, who was born in September of 2014. They welcomed twin girls, Amelia and Danielle to the family in September 2020. They also have a pup named Polly and a cat named Simon.
Hannah is a lifelong Calera resident who graduated from Calera High School. She started working as a part time kennel technician in 2016 while in high school, and because of her passion for the animals, she quickly worked her way to Lead Veterinary Technician. Her experience and loving nature makes her an invaluable member of our team. She has two fur babies, Doug and Lu. She enjoys hiking and spending time at the lake.
Melissa is also a Calera native. She lives in Calera with her husband, Eric, and her daughter, Lauren. She is also mom to three fur babies, Kit Kat, Dottie, and a wild girl named Maddie. She enjoys spending time with family and traveling. She joined our team in 2017 where she quickly became the “work mom” of our group. She has the amazing ability to remember our patients and clients by name when they come to visit.
Mandy is a Shelby native and has lived in Calera since 2007. She joined our team in 2018, is a Fear Free advocate and quick to fall in love with your fur babies. She has a daughter, a grandson and two pups. Mandy is the artistic person responsible for updating and posting pictures of your pets on Facebook when they come to meet us. She has a passion for animals, telling “Dad Jokes”, hiking and if missing, you will probably find her at the beach.
Brandy is a Mississippi native. She moved to Alabama in 2005 and soon after married her husband, Daniel. They have two children, Dylan and Hunter. She also has two fur babies, Sadie and Molly. She enjoys baseball games with her boys and spending time with her horse, Thunder. Brandy joined our team in 2020 as a Kennel Technician and now works as one of our Veterinary Technician. She loves meeting clients, however, she most enjoys monitoring surgeries to make sure your pets stay completely safe throughout their entire procedure.
Meghan is a Leeds native and she has worked in the veterinary field since she was 16 years old. She purchased her Calera home in 2020 and in 2022 we were ecstatic to have her join our team. Her happiness is contagious and she will love your fur babies unconditionally while they are here. Meg has 2 Huskies that she is absolutely obsessed with and if Ozzy and Lola can’t go, she doesn’t go.
